The Royal Conservatory of Music
Faced with a crumbling historic building and traditional economic model, the 115-year old Royal Conservatory embarked on a capital campaign to become one of the World’s top ten performance schools.
Savira led the award-winning transformational project from 2001 to 2007 – delivered “inside-out” vision, community engagement, stakeholder consensus, market research, partnership development with TELUS, detailed concept design with KPMB Architects, economic model, staffing and operating plan, programming strategy, state-of-the-art technology, superb public amenities, rental partners and sustainable business plan to drive revenue and transform not only the Royal Conservatory, but to enrich Canada’s cultural scene.
The Royal Conservatory is recognized today as Canada’s leading music educator and a global cultural node. Equipped for broadcast, the technologically advanced Koerner Hall and TELUS Centre for Performance & Learning extends the Conservatory’s reach around the world and into the future.
"Telus is proud of our unique business partnership with The Royal Conservatory. Savira's leadership was critical to building an extraordinary legacy for future generations, 'The Telus Centre for Performance & Learning' and Koerner Hall."
