Global Centre for Pluralism

The Global Centre for Pluralism (GCP) is an international centre for research,education and 

exchange about the values, practices and policies that underpin pluralist societies. 

Inspired by Canada’s experience as a diverse and inclusive country, the Centre was created as a global platform to advance living peacefully and productively together in diverse societies.

 

Founded by His Highness the Aga Khan in partnership with the Government of Canada, the new headquarters is located in the former Canadian War Museum (built in 1904) along Ottawa’s Sussex Drive and is designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

 

The Global Centre for Pluralism engaged Savira to work with project team to address programming and design for the interior and exterior signature spaces based on the Centre’s mandate and guiding principles of the National Capital Commission Master Plan. The multi-phased revitalization of the heritage property features a large outdoor plaza with landscaped gardens, state-of-the-art event centre, conference areas, meeting rooms and offices.Savira delivered research and planning including; design review, community consultation, market research, feasibility study, strategic partnerships, programming plan, economic model and business plan.
