CAMH Research Centre

The CAMH Research Centre is a state-of-the-art building on CAMH's Queen West campus, designed by KPMB Architects, that will become a vibrant destination for Toronto's west end. The new Centre culminates a 20-year Master Plan vision to transform its downtown campus into an urban village inspired by the masonry fabric of Toronto’s heritage residential and industrial neighbourhoods.

The goal for the new building is to remove the stigma associated with mental health institutions and reflect the evolution of CAMH’s leadership and expertise. The design reconciles the past, present, and future of CAMH’s Queen Street campus by honouring the deep Indigenous, pre-settlement origins of the site as a place of gathering, retreat, and security.

Working closely with the CAMH project team, Savira was engaged to develop the vision, operating model, and business plan for the new venues and public spaces.

Savira's work also included design development with the architects, market research and strategic partnership development for the new event centre business at CAMH.

Situated at the heart of the Queen West neighbourhood and offering unparalleled views towards the skyline, the CAMH Research Centre will be a spectacular addition to the downtown west community and GTA.
